What we store, and what we don't
Short version: browsing this board is anonymous. You only give us an address if you ask for job alerts, or if you run a school and sign in.

Who we are
AsianJobs is a job board for English-teaching roles in Asia, operated by AsianJobs. For anything on this page, write to hello@asianjobs.creabeast.com.
If you're looking for a job
There is no candidate account on this site, and that is deliberate — there is no profile, no CV upload and no password, so there is nothing of that kind to lose. Browsing, searching and filtering are anonymous.
Two things are worth spelling out:
- Job alerts. If you ask for them we store your email address and the filters you chose, and nothing else. We email once to confirm; if you don't click that link we delete the record after two weeks. Every digest carries a link that lets you change the filters or unsubscribe, and unsubscribing deletes the record rather than marking it inactive — we keep no list of people who have left.
- Saved roles. Your shortlist is stored in your own browser and is never sent to us. We cannot see it, and clearing your browser data removes it. It does not follow you to another device because there is nothing on our side to sync.
How we count apply clicks, without identifying you
When you click through to apply, we record that a listing received a click, so we can tell the school how much interest their role attracted. That figure is the whole reason the feature exists.
We do not store your IP address. It is combined with your browser's user-agent and the current date, and put through a keyed one-way hash; only the result is saved. Two consequences follow, both intended: the stored value cannot be turned back into an address, and the same person browsing tomorrow produces a different value — so the record cannot be joined up into a history of what you looked at. It is enough to avoid counting one person twice in a day, and not enough for anything else.
Those counts are deleted after 400 days. We never learn whether you actually applied — applications go straight to the school, by email or on their own site, and we are not in the middle of them.
If you run a school
Signing in stores your email address and a session cookie. There is no password on this site at all: you sign in by clicking a link we email you, so there is no password of yours for us to store or lose.
Beyond that we hold what you give us — the school name, the listings you write, and any logo you upload — plus, if you ever pay to post, an identifier from Stripe so we can match a payment to your account. Card details are entered on Stripe's own checkout and never reach our server.
Listing content is published. Treat it as public, and don't put anything in a listing that you would not want indexed.
Cookies
One cookie, set only when you sign in, which keeps you signed in. It is strictly necessary for that and there is no way to offer accounts without it.
There is no analytics, no advertising and no third-party tracking on this site today, so there is nothing else to consent to and no cookie banner — because there is nothing a banner would ask you about. If that changes we will ask before setting anything, rather than after.
Why we're allowed to hold any of it
- Alerts: your consent, given by clicking the confirmation link, withdrawable from any digest.
- Employer accounts and listings: necessary to provide the service you signed up for.
- Apply counts: our legitimate interest in telling schools whether a listing worked, which is why they are aggregated and de-identified rather than tied to a person.
- Payments: necessary for the contract, and to meet accounting obligations afterwards.
How long we keep things
- Unconfirmed alert signups: 14 days, then deleted automatically.
- Confirmed alerts: until you unsubscribe, which deletes them immediately.
- Apply-click counts: 400 days.
- Employer accounts and their listings: while the account exists. Ask us and we will delete the account; listings that came from a partner board rather than from you revert to unclaimed rather than disappearing, because they were public before your account existed.
- Payment records: as long as tax and accounting rules require, which is longer than we would otherwise keep them.
Who else sees it
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising. These are the services that process data in order to run the site:
| Service | What for | What it sees |
|---|---|---|
| Hostinger | Server and database hosting | Everything stored by the site, held on a single VPS in the EU. |
| Resend | Transactional and digest email | Recipient address and message content, for messages we send you. |
| Stripe | Payments, when a school pays to post | Billing details entered on Stripe's own checkout. Card numbers never reach our server. |
| Cloudflare | Storage for school logos | Logo image files uploaded by employers. No personal data. |
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. For alerts you don't need to ask at all — the link in any digest does it immediately, which is the fastest route and needs no reply from us.
For anything else, email hello@asianjobs.creabeast.com. We will answer within a month. If you think we have got it wrong you can complain to your local data protection authority.
A note on where listings come from
Most listings on this board were published on a partner job board first, rewritten here, and attributed on the listing itself. Employer contact details on a listing are the ones that school asked to be contacted on. How that works, and how to have a listing removed, is set out in our editorial policy.
A new subscriber's first digest looks back 30days so it isn't empty; after that you only ever see roles posted since we last wrote to you.
